I was recently invited, by the lovely Marcia Beckett, to join an art blog hop. Her artwork is so much fun! The bright colors and thoughtful words really speak to me- you might enjoy them too!
Here are the questions we are answering for the blog hop:
1. How does my creative process work?
I usually start by turning on my praise and worship music. {Truth be told… I often stop during the process to sing, dance, pray and worship. Makes the process a little longer, but also makes it so much more fun!} Next, I start pulling out the different items I feel like using that day. Sometimes it is ink. Other days, I start with paint or watercolor. The process for me is never the same. I just follow my feelings {and Spirit} and where they lead. In my work, you will see patterned paper, marker, washi tape, colored pencils and of course sparkle!
2. How does my work differ from others in my genre?
This is a tough question for me. I asked my sister-in-love this question one time and she said, “the thing that makes you different is, God is the artist, you are the painter.” I hope this is true! I really want to inspire others in their faith journey. I pray that my work is a stepping stone that encourages people to know Christ more!
3. What am I working on now?
As many of you know, I am working on art 101- 101 pieces of art in 101 days. I am enjoying this process and discovering new things about myself and my work. It is quite time consuming, however, which means I am not posting on here as much as I would like to. I am posting my work on Facebook though, so make sure you follow there so you can stay caught up with my daily work.
Here are three more artists you may be interested in learning about. They will be answering the same questions next Monday.
1. Kim Puckett at Expressatory. She talks about life and how she’s living to the fullest.
2. Katie Doucette at Polkadot Mitten (She is a Michigan Artist too).
3. Tricia Tharp, my good friend and another “Mitten” artist. You will love her sweet animals!
Hugs and abundant blessings,
Lynnette
